Beliefnet columnist Frederica Mathewes-Green is the author of The Lost Gospel of Mary, First Fruits of Prayer, Facing East: A Pilgrim's Journey into the Mysteries of Orthodoxy, and other books about early and eastern Christian spirituality. She writes commentaries and movie reviews for many outlets, including National Review Online, Sojourners, Christianity Today, and First Things. She lives with her husband, the Rev. Gregory Mathewes-Green, in Baltimore, Md., where he is pastor and she is "Khouria" ("Mother") of the church they founded, Holy Cross Orthodox Church. Her essays were selected for Best Christian Writing in 2002, 2004, 2006, and 2007.
