On the day of his enthronement to the primatial leadership of the Orthodox
Church in America, our dear Father in Christ, Metropolitan JONAH, has surely
spoken from the heart for all of us as he declared unity in Christ as not only a
moral, canonical, or gospel imperative, but the clear and unmistakable will of
God. I pray that Orthodox Christians throughout America will cast off all that
separates us or in any way impedes the realization of this mission in Christ.
May the fires of the Holy Spirit continue to forge in our hearts a well-tempered
steel that we ourselves, as living, breathing, sheaths of the Logos of God, may
bear the Sword of Truth entrusted to us by our Lord, God, and Savior, Jesus
Christ. Glory to God, who raises up true men of God to lead us and guide us; men
whose lives are living icons of Christ and can only call be called virtuous,
prompting us to cry: Axios! Axios! Axios!
